Boxing

Although the boxing rules differ from one association to another, one country to another, and from amateur to professional competitions. Nevertheless, there are some rules that all boxers must follow in all matches and whoever violates them is subject to warning, points deduction, or exclusion of the match by the referee. These rules are as follows:

  • It is not possible to hit below the belt or hit a fallen boxer. Moreover, gripping, hitting, or spitting on an opponent is impermissible and fundamentally unsportsmanlike.
  • A boxer cannot hit by his head, leg, or shoulder.
  • It is not permitted to enter the arena without gloves, and neither is a boxer allowed to complete the match if his glove is untied.
  • The boxer cannot hit his opponent from the back or in his kidneys (since punching in this area may cause him a fatal injury).
  • The punch cannot be directed if a boxer or opponent is holding the rope.
  • A boxer cannot catch and hit his opponent at the same time.
  • When the referee ends the round or match, you cannot hit your opponent, as this is illegal.
  • You cannot intentionally spit a mouthpiece during a match to get a break, however, if an opponent punches you that causes you to spit a mouthpiece you can rest for a period with a decision from the referee.
  • After scoring the knockout, you must move away to the furthest corner of the arena for the referee to count on the opponent.
  • If your opponent does not back up within ten seconds, he will be the loser.
  • If you drop your opponent on the ground, you cannot knockout him.
  • A boxer who falls to the ground is not entitled to have a break, according to most boxing federation laws.
  • If the boxer got a normal blow and grabs the ropes, he will have 5 minutes to get back to the game, but if he is unable to continue, he will be the loser.
  • If a boxer commits a foul that causes a severe injury to his opponent that prevents him from completing the match, then the boxer who committed the foul will be the loser!
  • If the injured boxer can complete the match, the referee will deduct two points from the boxer who made the foul.
  • If an unintended foul was committed and the boxer was injured and was unable to complete the match, then the result of the match will be “without score”. Likewise, if 4 rounds are not completed, the match will also be considered “without score”.
  • If the boxer is knocked out of the ring, for any reason, he will have 20 count until he returns without anyone’s help, and if he does not come back, he will be the loser!
