The U.S. debt limit of $16.394 trillion was reportedly reached on Dec 31, 2012. Congress will need to act within the next 2-3 months in order to continue funding the expected 2013 deficit.

This statement will be true if a resolution passes both houses of Congress raising the debt ceiling before the end of day on January 31, 2013.
